To put it simply, 2020 hasn’t exactly gone as planned. We’ve cancelled holidays and business trips and found ourselves stuck indoors for longer than we thought possible. But now, with borders opening up, travellers are itching to take to the skies once again.
Collinson, a global leader in travel experiences is all set to reinforce people’s faith in travel. The group offers the world-renowned Priority Pass airport lounge and experiences programme and through the team’s efforts airport lounges have introduced safe, touch-free experiences to reinforce your confidence in travel. A recent survey said that 71% of Priority Pass Members say they would like to travel either immediately or within the next 3-6 months. And Collinson is making sure you can all return to your travels once again.
The Priority Pass membership helps ensure that travellers are guided by services that focus on safety and high standards of hygiene at airports. It is the most recognised airport lounge programme, that provides a wide range of services. Collinson is committed to helping the travel industry recover, and as a part of the process is developing new initiatives to ensure travellers feel safe and comfortable at airport lounges and beyond.
Here’s what you can expect:
Testing: the key to global recovery
Alongside its airport and medical partners, Collinson is currently exploring a number of initiatives to test passengers at borders. This helps travellers cross borders without the need to play ‘quarantine roulette’ and can provide accurate, real-time information to national governments. In partnership with Swissport, Collinson has opened the UK’s first pre-departure rapid LAMP testing facilities at Terminals 2 and 5 at Heathrow Airport, as well as an inbound PCR testing facility at Terminal 2. A Global Travel Recovery Map
With rules and regulations changing almost daily, it’s a challenge to monitor which airports are fully operational. Collinson’s Global Travel Recovery Map is a free resource for travellers to stay updated with current conditions in over 150 airports across the globe. So you can see which airports offer Inbound Airport Testing, monitor COVID rates by country and understand which airport lounges part of the Global Priority Pass network are available.
A global digital health pass
To get the world moving again, Collinson is supporting the launch of CommonPass, a digital health pass for travellers to securely document their certified COVID-19 test status while keeping their health data private. This gives both travellers and governments confidence in each other traveller’s verified COVID-19 status. (More details here).
A safer, touch-free experience at airport lounges
Collinson has set in place clear guidelines, to help make airport lounges as safe as possible for travellers. There will be floor markers to indicate safe distancing, plus hand sanitisers and handwashing facilities readily available. A seat allocation service will help prevent overcrowding and safe seating will be clearly marked. (More details here).
Collinson has created ‘Ready-2-Order’, a contactless, digital system that maintains lounge hygiene standards while making food and beverage services available completely contactless. All you have to do is sign in with your own device when you enter the lounge. Inside, you’ll find clean, socially distanced seats and tables. There’ll be no need to handle any paperwork, all you’ll have to do is scan a QR code, and choose from a unique, carefully crafted menu. Your order will be sent directly to the kitchen and served to you at a dedicated pick-up point.
Book your stay at accredited hotels
Collinson ensures that your peace of mind extends beyond the airport lounge. In partnership with Global Secure Accreditation, the first independent global standard for security for the hotel industry, Collinson is creating the COVID-19 Certificate of International Good Practice. This new certification provides hotels and venues internationally with evidence that they’re following best practices when it comes to hygiene security. Hotel operators also have the option of adding Collinson’s Pandemic Support Hotline, which provides 24/7 direct, confidential access to medically trained experts who can specifically answer questions related to COVID-19.
