Explore a new mountainous world and enjoy the winter thrills. Go on a snowy escape in the newest expansion pack for The Sims 4, coming in November.

Earlier this month Maxis Studios announced the newest expansion pack for The Sims 4, a winter sports-themed pack called The Sims 4: Snowy Escape. The initial fan response to this expansion was mixed, with some Simmers being excited and others believing the new snow-based pack could’ve been included in The Sims 4: Seasons. Players who look forward to exploring the mountainous world of Mount Komorebi in The Sims 4: Snowy Escape won’t have to wait long as the newest Sims 4 expansion pack is just two weeks away.

The Sims 4: Snowy Escape provides a variety of gameplay opportunities for Simmers such as skiing, snowboarding, and rock climbing. In The Sims 4: Snowy Escape preview it’s revealed that for the first time in Sims 4 history, players will be able to live and rent in the new Japanese inspired world Mount Komorebi. Previously, Simmers could only rent property in the vacation worlds of Granite Falls from The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat, Selvadorada from The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure, and Sulani from The Sims 4: Island Living. In the base game update that will release ahead of Snowy Escape, players will be able to have rental properties in any of The Sims 4 worlds.

The Global Community Manager for The Sims, SimGuruFrost announced there will be a Sims 4: Snowy Escape livestream on Twitch hosted by Graham Nardone, producer of The Sims 4. In the livestream the SimGurus will answer questions and provide a first look at things such as gameplay elements and Create-A-Sim. Another first for The Sims 4 is every lot included in The Sims 4: Snowy Escape was created by Simmers in the EA Game Changers program. It may not officially be winter yet, but Simmers will get to enjoy everything included in The Sims 4: Snowy Escape on November 13th. The expansion pack will be released for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. There’s no word on when or if The Sims 4 will be available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. With the Xbox Series X/S having backwards compatibility, it could be possible that a physical copy of the Xbox One version of The Sims 4 may work on the Xbox Series X.

Maxis and EA are taking steps to provide gameplay that speaks to their global audience in The Sims 4: Snowy Escape. The incorporation of Japanese inspired clothing, architecture, and traditions allows Simmers to better create sims from different cultures and walks of life. The new Lifestyles and Sentiments system included in the new expansion pack also adds depth to character creation. While this is a step in the right direction, there’s still a lot that can be done to bring better representation to The Sims 4.

The Sims 4: Snowy Escape brings the thrills of winters sports, the beauty of the snow-filled world of Mount Komorebi, and the inclusion of different culture, lifestyles, and sentiments. Whether players choose to take a vacation and spend their time snowboarding and relaxing at the local onsen, or start a new life in the modern or traditional parts of town, there’s a lot of things to do and people to meet in The Sims 4: Snowy Escape.
