Deavan Clegg is disappointed not to have her dream wedding, but many 90 Day Fiancé fans aren’t sympathetic. A fan called her actions “pure stupidity.”
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Deavan Clegg is disappointed that she wouldn’t have the wedding of her dreams. But fans think that she needs to respect the Korean culture and stop being overly dramatic.
In the recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, viewers saw that Deavan and her South Korean husband, Jihoon Lee, are getting along pretty well. To everybody’s surprise, the couple even said, “I love you” to each other while holding hands. Deavan accompanied Jihoon to see where he works and if what he does is legal. Despite being embarrassed, Jihoon took her to a mobile shop from where he buys used phones and then sells them. But (knowingly or unknowingly), Deavan jeopardized Jihoon’s job by telling the shop owner about his criminal record. Fortunately, the boss was chilled out and showed trust in his employee. While the couple is still struggling financially, the 23-year-old reality TV star wants to have a big, lavish, American style wedding, which is the polar opposite of a Korean ceremony. She was disappointed to see the wedding hall and even more disheartened to learn that the ceremony can only last for one hour. Plus, she has to be ready for the wedding by 11 a.m, which is again a bummer for her.

During a confessional, she said, “I feel really let down right now because Jihoon knew how special a wedding was for me.” She added, “Someone planning it already without asking you your input, it’s kind of like a surprise party you don’t want. It just feels like my childhood dream is destroyed.” Many 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans want her to stop overreacting to this minor inconvenience. She has already been married twice – on paper and the traditional Korean wedding. A Reddit user wrote, “How many weddings does she need? She’s already had two!” Another one said, “she’s so melodramatic, just like “my life is ruined”, she’s like a teenager who goes through something minor and thinks her life is over.” A fan rightly stated, “I think it’s normal to dream about that AS A CHILD. Once you’re an adult, it’s pure stupidity to hang your happiness on it.“
The Utah native should have researched a little about Korean culture before permanently shifting there with her two kids. While explaining a typical Korean wedding, a 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way viewer said (via Reddit), “Receptions like in the US are not a common thing in Korea. You can expect to be at a Korean wedding less than a couple hours. You go, give your envelope with money as a gift, watch the ceremony, eat, say congrats to the couple, then leave.” Another one added, “My korean wedding was done in 3 hours total and it was considered pretty long, there was no dancing, singing or drinking.”
Well, if the TLC star really wanted a big bash, she should have had it in the United States, where her family and friends would also be present to attend it. She could have had all her dreams fulfilled there without any inconvenience. Still, it would be interesting to see how the couple would get past this roadblock in the upcoming episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.
