Twilight actor Booboo Stewart, who played the happy-go-lucky Seth Clearwater, says he still gets recognized for the role years later.
Twilight actor Booboo Stewart says he still gets recognized years later. Stewart has been acting since he was young, and has had several notable roles since his time in the Twilight franchise. For instance, he’s not only played Jay in Disney’s Descendants, but James Proudstar, aka Warpath, in X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, he is arguably most well-known for his part as Seth Clearwater.
While Stewart had acted prior to the Twilight saga, he nabbed the role of Seth Clearwater when he was just 15 years old. Seth is the younger brother of Leah Clearwater (Julia Jones). He’s not only a member of the Quileute tribe but has the ability to shapeshift into a werewolf. Seth also makes every effort to treat the Cullen family with dignity and respect, despite the bad blood that runs between werewolves and vampires.

Stewart speaks about his time as Seth Clearwater in an interview with CinemaBlend. More specifically, he says he’s still recognized for his role, even though the final Twilight movie was released in 2012. However, Stewart seems to be taking this in good stride, and emphasizes that he remains incredibly grateful for the experience. You can check out Stewart’s full statement on Twilight below:
“It’s kind of funny, if people like something, they kinda like it forever. With Twilight still, [I get] so much stuff from Twilight, where everyone’s like ‘I love Twilight.’ And that movie came out a long time ago, over 10 years ago. Ten years since I was in it and I was in the third film. But, I’m so thankful. It’s very cool.”
Although Stewart wasn’t a main character in the Twilight saga, he quickly won fans over with his earnest, cheerful portrayal of Seth Clearwater. Seth had quite a few action scenes in the Twilight franchise, including an incredible fight sequence in Breaking Dawn — Part 2. Regardless, the Twilight films revealed relatively little about his backstory. As such, many Twilight fans have pushed for Seth to receive a spinoff series of his own, due to his enduring popularity. While Stewart has shown he has a soft spot for Twilight, a Seth-focused spinoff seems unlikely, especially due to the actor’s busy schedule. Still, it would be amazing to see Seth step into the spotlight, especially as much of his story remains untold.
Although the Twilight film saga concluded with Breaking Dawn — Part 2, author Stephanie Meyer has been hard at work. More specifically, she recently released Midnight Sun, a novel that rehashes the events of Twilight from Edward Cullen’s (Robert Pattinson) point of view. Meyer reportedly has another two Twilight books planned as well. As a result, it’s clear that Twilight is far from over. To that end, while Stewart has since moved on to other projects, he will forever remain an iconic former teen heartthrob.
