Anesthesiologist Joe Park went into The Bachelorette season 16 willing to fight for love after he spent most of 2020 fighting against COVID-19. This season was scheduled to start filming in the spring, but ABC had to push filming to the summer months. After all, the COVID-19 pandemic was just getting started back in March, and no one knew yet what the appropriate measures would be for TV and film projects to safely resume production. For these men to be cast on the show, they went through several health tests that took place before and during the filming of the season.

In any case, all that preparation didn’t pan out the way that the producers wanted, as they could’ve never foreseen that Clare Crawley would fall in love on The Bachelorette with Dale Moss on day one. After the production team realized what was going on, they gave Tayshia Adams a call, and she was immediately flown in to replace Clare as the leading lady of season 16. At this point in the show, Clare and Dale’s storyline is the rearview mirror, and it’s officially Tayshia’s season to lead, meet some guys, and perhaps fall in love.

It only took a few minutes into The Bachelorette season 16 for Bachelor Nation to get introduced to anesthesiologist Joe Park. He came out with a stethoscope to listen to Clare’s heart, making it very clear that he worked in healthcare. The fans may not know too many details about Joe yet, but he actually works as a doctor in New York City, which was the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic for many months in the United States. As an anesthesiologist, Joe helped in the fight against this virus in NYC. However, he ended up getting the disease himself. Thus, not only did he deal with this disease as a doctor, but he also personally survived it.

So far, Joe Park hasn’t gotten that much airtime on The Bachelorette. With that said, none of the men got featured that much at the start of the season. There wasn’t a lot of room left outside of Clare and Dale’s storyline falling in love. But now that Tayshia Adams has effectively taken over for Clare, not all hope is lost for Joe to perhaps fall in love on the show.

Joe Park will hopefully be featured a little more on The Bachelorette. However, only time will tell if he and Tayshia will be able to find a real connection on TV.
