Here’s everything we know about The Flight Attendant, a new HBO Max show starring Kaley Cuoco. Based on Chris Bohjalian’s eponymous 2018 novel, the dark comedy miniseries follows a young woman who gets caught up in an international murder mystery. The Flight Attendant was co-produced and directed by Susanna Fogel, who is best known as the screenwriter for The Spy Who Dumped Me and Booksmart.

The Flight Attendant marks the second original drama series for HBO Max after Raised by Wolves. Filmmaker Ridley Scott co-produced the high-concept science fiction series, which follows an android that raises human children on Kepler-22b after Earth is ravaged by war. Raised by Wolves earned mostly positive review and was renewed by shortly after its premiere. Since launching in May 2020, HBO Max has released five original films, including the Seth Rogen comedy An American Pickle.

With The Flight Attendant, Cuoco returns to TV after starring as Penny on The Big Bang Theory from 2007 to 2019. In recent years, the American actress has voiced Harley Quinn in the animated series of the same name, which she also co-produces through her company Yes, Norman Productions. Cuoco also serves as an executive producer for The Flight Attendant on HBO Max.

Aside from Cuoco’s role in The Big Bang Theory, she’s appeared in numerous TV shows over the past 25 years. She starred as Bridget Hennessy in 8 Simple Rules on ABC and later voiced Brandy Harrington in Brandy & Mr. Whiskers on the Disney Channel.

The Flight Attendant Release Date

The Flight Attendant premieres on November 26 on HBO Max. Three episodes release on November 26, with two new episodes releasing on December 3 and December 10. The Flight Attendant series finale will then release on Thursday, December 17.

Aside from Cuoco in the lead role, The Flight Attendant co-stars Rosie Perez (Birds of Prey), Zosia Mamet (above; Girls), Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones), Michelle Gomez (Doctor Who), and Colin Woodell (The Purge). In recurring roles, Bebe Neuwirth (Madam Secretary) and Yasha Jackson (Black Mirror “Black Museum”) will also appear in The Flight Attendant.

The Flight Attendant Story Details

The Flight Attendant follows Cassandra Bowden (Cuoco), the titular character who spends time with Alex Sokolov (Huisman) in a Bangkok hotel room and wakes up next to his dead body. Based on the trailer, the demeanor of Cuoco’s character makes her appear guilty, which confuses investigators and some of her closest friends. Eventually, Cassandra must face the possibility that she may actually be a killer.
