Dancing with the Stars ballroom dancer Witney Carson recently discussed her birth plan for her upcoming baby with husband Carson McAllister.
Dancing with the Stars professional ballroom dancer Witney Carson posted an Instagram Story on Monday revealing her birth plan with husband Carson McAllister. This will be the first child for the couple, who have been married since 2016. Carson initially confirmed her pregnancy back in July of this year. She then shared she was having a boy the next month, exciting Dancing with the Stars fans around the world.
The dancer-turned-reality television star originally garnered attention in 2012 when she appeared on So You Think You Can Dance. She eventually began her work on DWTS as a troupe dancer in 2013 before becoming a professional partner to participating celebrities. On social media, she has been fairly public about her relationship with McAllister, who was her high school sweetheart. They celebrated their wedding in a three-part ceremony in Salt Lake City four years ago.

Mom-to-be Carson has now opened up on Instagram (via People), about her plans to be induced at the 39-week mark of her pregnancy, noting her baby is facing head-down. The ballroom dancer wasn’t shy about sharing her concerns for her baby boy, claiming the entire experience has put things into perspective for her. However, Carson recognizes her birth plan will likely continue to evolve until the actual delivery, saying, “My birth plan is to get induced, but obviously things change so I’m just kind of gonna go with the flow. But as of right now, that’s where we’re at so I’m just gonna try and get through this home stretch.”
Carson continued to share the reasoning behind her decision to be induced. The Dancing with the Stars athlete noted her doctor recommended the procedure and said she specifically wanted to avoid the risks associated with having a C-section. Carson hopes she can get an ultrasound at the 36-week mark to get a better idea of the size of her baby boy. It makes sense Carson’s thought so carefully about her birth plan. Even with how unpredictable the birthing process can be, it’s smart to go in with an idea of how she wants to progress. Carson’s reasoning behind being induced is logically thought out as well. Hopefully, it leads to a positive experience for both mom and baby when the birth finally happens.
Until then, it appears Carson is in good spirits, as she celebrated her baby’s upcoming arrival with a shower in Utah over the weekend. Luckily, her planners were able to develop a safe way for everyone to celebrate with the pandemic, which Carson referred to as “drive by” style. Hopefully, Carson and McAllister can piece together a similar celebration for when their new bundle of joy arrives, perhaps even with her Dancing with the Stars family.
