Superman & Lois actor Bitsie Tulloch has posted a behind the scenes shot, giving fans their first look at the title duo’s teenage sons. Tulloch, who joined the Arrowverse as Lois Lane in 2018, is reprising the role alongside Tyler Hoechlin’s Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming CW series. It’s set to premiere in late February 2021 and follows Clark and Lois’s life as parents of two teenaged sons while living in Smallville. It’s one of the most anticipated series in the Arrowverse due to its focus on DC’s most iconic superhero.
Unfortunately, the show has not been a stranger to controversy, with a fired writer accusing Superman & Lois showrunners of sexism and refusing to include a more diverse Martha and Jonathan Kent. Nevertheless, the show’s production continues, with Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin playing Lois and Clark’s sons Jonathan and Jordan, respectively. First images and a teaser trailer for the show haven’t given fans much new footage, and Jonathan and Jordan have been noticeably absent from promotional material so far. But now, Tulloch has given audiences their first look at the pair on set.

Tulloch posted a behind-the-scenes image on her Instagram stories, showing Hoechlin, Elsass, and Garfin getting ready for a shot, as seen via an on-set viewfinder. There’s also a crew member, wearing a mask as part of COVID-19 on set safety protocols, setting something up. The image is the first look at Elassa and Garfin, and the pair look well cast. Jordan Kent is reportedly an anxious, socially awkward teenager, and Garfin looks the part. On the other hand, Elsass looks more like Hoechlin, with a classic Kent haircut and muscular frame. Tulloch’s post is likely to be the first of many images fans will see of the sons, as they are set to play a big part in the show. Most audiences expect both sons to have inherited Clark’s superpowers, but there is a theory that only one of them will. With his athletic physique and outgoing personality, Jonathan would be the obvious choice, but don’t be surprised if the writers decide to deny the more confident son powers in favor of upending things by giving Jordan superpowers.
With the show debuting in just under three months (and production currently in full swing), expect some more images of a much more official nature, to be released by the CW soon. Given the recent cancellation of several other shows in the Arrowverse, including Supergirl, the network is sure to double down on promotional efforts for Superman & Lois, which hopefully means that the first proper look at Jonathan and Jordan Kent is just around the corner.
